(ANSAMed) - NEW YORK, AUGUST 10 - The US imposed sanctions on
Syrian state oil company Sytrol because it does business with
Iran, the US State Department made known in a communique on
Friday.
The measure is based on Syria's ''supplying gas to Iran,'' thus helping Tehran to ''continue developing its nuclear program'' and helping the Syrian regime gain resources with which to oppress its people, a State Department spokesman said.
